KUNSTHAUS LIPP
12.11.2025 - Written by Sabine Gross
Kilian Lipp, who signs his paintings with the famous “Kili,” was born in 1953 in Vorderhindelang. After spending a year at sea, he studied object design at universities in Aachen and Krefeld.
In 1981 he returned to the Allgäu and has worked as a freelance artist ever since. He has received countless awards for his work, and his paintings have been exhibited around the world.
All the more special that he has always remained loyal to his homeland, even though he also owns a studio and art house in Tuscany. His contribution to the local art scene cannot be overestimated.
We visited the exhibition again at the end of December after quite some time and had the opportunity to speak with the artist and his wife. Combined with a small walk around and above Gailenberg, it is a wonderful outing.
Parking spaces are available but should not be occupied for too long.
Of course, you can also walk there from the hotel via Café Polite, the Luitpoldhöhe, and Nusche to Gailenberg. That takes about 1 hour (one way) – but the walk is well worth it.
