If you want to dive deeper into the history, you can find many fascinating insights on our team page and in the accompanying blog.

Dogs are generally allowed, though not in all rooms. Since we value a harmonious environment, we have set a limit on the number of dogs allowed. This means we cannot accommodate a dog at any given time. Therefore, it is important to indicate your dog at the time of booking.

WHAT DOES âWELLNESS HOTELâ ACTUALLY MEAN?
A wellness hotel is dedicated to the holistic relaxation of body, mind, and soul. Many 4-star hotels today use this designationâbut for us, the idea of a spa and healing spring has a particularly long tradition, dating back to the hotelâs founding in 1864. Situated close to nature, it employs not only traditional hotel staff but also physiotherapists and massage therapists to provide you with a thoroughly restorative experience.
Wellness hotels generally offer a spacious spa area with various saunas, pools, and treatments such as massages and therapies.

Yes, children are welcome to use the wellness area together with their parents at any time. It is important that both parents and children keep in mind that everyone should enjoy themselves, including guests seeking peace and quiet.
Please note: We are not a traditional childrenâs hotel, where running or jumping in the pool is allowed while other guests are present.
Tip: The area is usually quieter around midday, so children can play more freely. Traditional saunas are less suitable for children, while the infrared sauna is generally well tolerated. The popular waterbeds are, of course, also available for families. In designated quiet areas, we ask for absolute silenceâboth for adults and children.
HOW IS A SAUNA HEATED?
Our saunas are electrically operated. The sauna stove heats the stones, which retain the heat, so that after the morning preheating, only a small amount of energy is needed to maintain the temperature. Sauna stoves require regular rest periods and therefore cannot run continuously.
WHAT IS THE SPA ETIQUETTE AT HOTEL PRINZ-LUITPOLD-BAD?
We have a log cabin sauna, a color-light sauna, and a steam bath for traditional use without clothing, as well as an infrared sauna and a textile sauna for use with swimwear. In the showers and the outdoor area of the log cabin sauna, guests in swimwear or bathrobes may occasionally encounter nude guests, which generally works well.
It is clearly indicated in which area you are at all times. Above the lakonium, there is an FKK (nudist) deckâa fresh air area with loungers.
Pools are generally to be used with swimwear.
ARE ALL POOLS AVAILABLE YEAR-ROUND?
Yes, all three pools are available and heated year-round, including the outdoor pool. The outdoor pool is sometimes closed in winter to save energy and protect the environment but can be opened at any time using the button on the pool steps. This does not limit your access in any way.
DO YOU HAVE SULFUR WATER?
Yes, our hotelâs own spring contains sulfur water. This was the reason Dr. Stich built a bathing facility in 1864 at the site where the shop is now located. The healing power of the spring has been known since the 17th century. Today we still use it in our bathtub treatments and sometimes in the indoor pool. Donât worryâit does not have the strong smell often associated with other sulfur springs.
WHAT ARE THE TEMPERATURES AND SIZES OF THE POOLS?
-
Outdoor pool: approx. 30âŻÂ°C in winter, 28âŻÂ°C in summer, 6 Ă 12âŻm
